Notes

The Notes tab holds live notes you took during interview sessions. Open it to scan, search, and group those notes by what matters: the session they came from, the discussion-guide question they answered, or a tag.

Notes get captured in real time during a Live Interview (and from the manual note-taker on any session). They land in this tab automatically.

The Notes tab is available on paid plans; it's hidden on the Free plan.

Grouping

The header has four grouping tabs:

  • Sessions. One lane per session/file. Notes you took during interview 3 live under interview 3.
  • Questions. One lane per question in your discussion guide. The guide is the structured outline you set up before the interview.
  • Tags. One lane per tag.
  • All. Flat list.

Search filters across whichever grouping you have selected.

Discussion guides

A discussion guide is the question outline you bring into an interview. It's stored on the project; live notes can attach to one of its questions, which is what makes the Questions grouping useful afterward.

If you haven't set up a guide, the Questions grouping shows a prompt to add one.

Editing notes

Click any note to expand and edit. Notes save as you type. Add tags inline; they show up immediately in the Tags grouping.

Privacy

Notes stay private to your workspace. Sharing a project's public link does not expose your notes.

Notes vs. reports

Use notes for working memory during a session. Once you've finished interviewing and want to share findings with a stakeholder, draft a report or a deck from the same project.
